Raleigh 350cc side valve Model 20 De Luxe 1928. First registered on 11th April 1928. PN Registration was issued in East Sussex.
This model Raleigh has pretty advanced engineering for the time having roller and ball crankshaft bearings and the big end being roller bearing.
The petrol tank is of twin tank construction and is independent with two filler caps.
Sturmey Archer 3 speed gearbox.
This Raleigh has stood for a long, long time in the dry, the motor is free and the gears select, all the cables are free..........
..The Raleigh will need a degree of restoration, but that depends on the standard you require. I feel with new spokes and tyres and a good service and seat cover etc; the Raleigh could be used.....
Have the old card logbook and a bill of sale from 1970 for £55....!! The numbers in the log book match.
Not many 1920's motorcycles for sale these days and this is all complete with nothing missing and all the metal work is sound and this is a interesting quality motorcycle from the lovely 1920's.
Not long to next years Banbury Vintage Motorcycle Run. This Raleigh is eligible to enter this world wide attended prestigious motorcycle run. Hoping to have my own 1924 motorcycle ready to enter next year.
Not tried to start the Raleigh...But I could if really pushed to do so.....................
