Yamaha YDS2 250 Sports 1963 Yamaha YDS2 250 Sports Twin 1963. The Yamaha YDS2 Sports was quite a revelation when introduced in 1962. with twin carburettors, combined Speedo/rev-counter, and brilliant brakes and with a top speed of 90 MPH. They arrived in the UK in 1963 these models are quite rare as they were only made for a short period before the YDS3 was introduced in the middle of 1964.The YDS3 looked similar to the YDS2 but they are a very different motorcycle to the YDS2 in almost every area. This YDS2 Has been restored, I feel in the early 1980's and has all the original parts fitted except the rear shocks, which I do have. The front guard is a little out of shape. The chrome on the original silencers is very good as is most of the other chrome, the paintwork is very tidy. the rare original Speedo/rev-counter is working well and showing 7132 miles. The frame and engine numbers are matching, and the original alloy Yamaha I'D plate is fixed on the headstock. The Yamaha starts and runs really well and is quite an attractive smart motorcycle. The ultra rare' original handbook, and a parts list is included and a service manual is included. There are some spare parts included in the sale also. The original registration 653 DOW was issued only, from April to May 1963 in Southampton, so an early 1963 YDS2 model. This YDS2 is a very worthwhile motorcycle for anyone's collection quite rare and a true sports model. More images available on request. For Sale: Price: £ 3690
