Ducati 250 Daytona Manufactured 1961. First year of the 250cc model.

Declared manufactured in 1964 on the V5 registration document. The frame and engine number start 81***   looking at some records for these models it would appear this Daytona - Diana in the US'  was manufactured in 1961 making this a pretty rare early model. I have often found declared manufactured date on registration documents are not always correct.

I first thought this was a 250 Daytona GT looking at the guards as the 5 Speed Daytona GT and 200GT models  were fitted with these valance guards. This Daytona is a Four speed. If the slimmer guards are preferred I can advise contact details to acquire these. The guards fitted which are Genuine Ducati guards and look really good. The original colour of this model was Blue and Silver, traces of the original Blue can be seen.

This Daytona has stood unused since last taxed in 1992 and will require some attention to the paintwork etc; The last owner has had the motor running and says the motor is OK.

The Alloy wheel rims are good the rear is a Borrani the front is similar but has no makers name.

The  Ducati is being sold requiring  a degree of restoration as stood for 19 years. Have V5 registration document and old tax disc .

I have an original colour factory brochure of this Daytona model, which I have owned since the 1960s I will offer a copy which should be useful.

Mach 1 camshaft, cam/rockers followers, Prop-stand,  Genuine early Veglia white face rubber mounted rev-counter and bevel gear fitting cover with brass rev-counter drive Ducati made in Italy engraved.
